Finnaly The Video!!

I posted the preview of the new Shakira Video but I hadnt seen it completly but now that I have I cant wait to blog about it. I hadnt been able to do it untill now do to lots of homework and proyects that are due. So here it is:

I really like how Nadal and Shakira look together. I know it is completly out of the blue but you have to admit they make a very cute couple. To bad Nadal is dating a lady called Xisca and Shakira is engaged to her long time boyfriend Antonio de la Rua. Still the video is really cool and it goes well with the song. I really like that besides Shakira looking all pretty she gives us, her female audience, a male lead we can look at. The video is all about the sparks that fly when Shakira and Nadal are together. The song is also really good but I like the Spanish version better. The video was also filmed in spanish, same video diffrent language. I like how in the video it seems like Nadal is waiting for his gypsy aka Shakira to come along. How he is devoted to her even though she is a nomad that walks all over and can hook up with anyone, he is strong. Oh and obviously it is great that Nadal is so good looking, I mean those shirtless moments are great and when he splashes water in his face and then looks up is amazing.
If you want to tell me about what you think about the video leave a comment!

Play This List!

Today I chose some of my Alternative/Rock/Punk songs to make a playlist. Last weeks playlist didn't really have a common thing between the songs. This week all the songs have electric guitar drums and are basically "rocky". Why did I make a Alternative/Rock/Punk playlist? The answer is: I am kind of mad and annoyed. These songs in a way helped me express my anger and frustration after I wasted about half an hour doing something that my work group finally decided not to do. Grrrr. Anyway here's the playlist:

  1. Think Twice by Eve 6

  2. Coffees for Closers by Fall Out Boy
  3. Born For This by Paramore

  4. Kiss Yourself Goodbye by The All-American Rejects

  5. Falling Apart by The All-American Rejects

  6. Keep the Change, You Filthy Animal by All Time Low

  7. Falling Down by Atreyu

  8. Anthem pt.2 by Blink 182
  9. Late at Night by Buffalo Tom

  10. How You Remind Me by Nickleback

  11. The Road I am On by 3 Door Down

  12. Kings and Queens by 30 Seconds to Mars

  13. Blister in the Sun by Violent Femmes

You may notice some of these songs are calmer than other, but if you ever need a playlist that says I am angry, this is it. This playlist also says I am angry but I am trying to calm down before I hurt my cat ( kicking the cat is part of my defrustrating treatment).

  1. A friend showed me this song last year. I remember I couldn't stop playing it because its the type of song you cant get out of your head. Now if I listen closely I see the song is about an overly obsessed boyfriend who needs to relax and go to an anger management institution. Still its catchy.

  2. This Fall Out Boy album, Folie à Deux, is amazing. Coffee for Closers is another song from this album which uses sasy lyrics to make a connection between the person listening to the song and what the group is trying to express.

  3. Paramore is my favorite band and this song is really good. My favorite part is the chorus because of the lyrics. " Everybody sing like its the last song you will ever sing, Everybody live like its the last day you will ever see" is part of the chorus and I just think that the song is all about knowing what you are supposed to do on Earth while you are on it.

  4. The voice of the lead singer of The All American Rejects is really cool. He can reach these kinda high notes and doesn't do it like he is screaming. In this song his voice sounds amazing.

  5. What I love about this song is the rhythm. It sounds playful yet there is someone talking about a complex relationship and how they will never leave the person. The lyrics are also really good.

  6. Whats funny about this song is that it doesn't sound at all like the title. When you read the name of the song you think: wow that's gonna be one nasty song. Actually it never even mentions the filthy animal of the title. Its about a guy talking about a girl and how she thinks she is better than anyone. No money and no filthy animals involved.

  7. This song is pretty cool. I like the rhythm above all and the lead singers voice is ok but there are times when I just feel he will lose it because of the screams he has to pull of.

  8. The first time I heard this song was in a movie called Stick It. The scene was a rebellious scene and I think of this as a rebel song. It makes me wanna get up and do something kind of drastic, but no too drastic.

  9. This song came out in a T.V show of the 90 s called My So Called Life. The scene when this song plays is so cute. The main characters who are interpreted by Claire Danes and Jared Leto finally get together. Now I just relate this song with romance. If you listen to the lyrics you'll actually notice they are quite romantic too.

  10. I really like the rhythm of this song. The drums are the coolest part. They are pretty much the ones that carry the whole tune of the song and the instrument that really makes this song unique.

  11. 3 Doors Down is such a good band but they are not really known. The people in the band aren't very young so I guess they are less appealing but they're music is really good. You should really check them out.
  12. After My So Called Life, Jared Leto formed this amazing band called 30 Seconds to Mars. The video of this song is pretty neat but it doesn't make any sense. Lots of people in bikes going around a city looking all tough. Anyway the best part is when the camera focuses on Jared Leto and shows of his new hairdo ( after having long hair for the past like 20 years he finally cut it)
  13. This is like the best song to be calm and happy after wasting your time. Its so happy and so positive. Maybe its because the guy is high as a kite, but that's not the point, hes happy and that's what matters. The song is happy and can really help through rough times, still don't do drugs

I hope you enjoy this anger management playlist and find that music is a good way to deal with your issues.

Shakira´s New Video!

This is the preview of the music video "Gitana" by Shakira. If you haven't seen it yet here its is. A quick fact about the video is that the male protagonist is Rafael Nadal, the famous tennis player. The video was filmed in Barcelona, Spain and took a day and a half to film.
Enjoy!

Original Tuesday:

This is an original song by a girl called Nicole Chittle from Maidson, ON. She writes her own songs and what is really creative about her is that she did a whole series of songs on the Twilight characters. Todays song is about the main character of the book whos name is Edward Cullen. Her son is not sung by an in off narrator like the others but its sungs from Bella´s point of view. Its a song about everything Bella would say about Edward and it really does sound like Bella herself is singing the song (Bella not Kristen Stewart).

I really like the guitar in the song and how it sounds calm just like Bella. The lyrics of the song are definetly the highlight. You could actually get this song and sing it to another person, that is if that person drinks blood and has a stone like nature. It was really creative of her to base an entire song on anothers persons perspective. She demonstrates that walking in another persons shoes is not that hard. Something else that makes this song so appealing is that her voice is strong but she can change it depending what emotion she is trying to get across to her audience.

If you enjoyed this clip you should really check out her other songs. She doesnt only sing about fictioal characters, she also has other original songs not involving these characgers. Click here to go to her channel on YouTube.

I hope you liked todays Original Tuesday!

Song of the Week!

Its a new week and after a week of not having a song of the week its time to get back on track. This weeks song is called Morning After Dark by Timbaland featuring Nelly Furtado . The song came out in Timbalands most recent album titled Shock Value 2, proceeding after Shock Value. If you click here you can listen to the full song thanks to my handy computer skills. If you click here you can listen to the song.

Timothy Z. Mosley aka Timbaland is known for working with different artist for his albums. He has colaborated with artist like Miley Cyrus, Nelly Furtado, The Fray, and Justin Timberlake to name a few. He has also been the man behind many hits by other artist like Missy Elliot, Destiny´s Child, and Ludacris. He came into the scene in the 90´s and hit hard with the new age music he produced. He owns his own music label know as Mosely Music Group (MMG). He is proud of the succes he has had and he is considered a pioneer in the buisness for the sound he has created. You can only expect succes from a Timbaland song and lots of catchy lyrics.

Morning After Dark is a very good song that is really danceable. Timbaland´s lyrics are catchy and the way he sings them stays sounding in your head for a while. Nelly Furtados backround voice enhances the mood of the song showing that there is more to do in the "morning after dark". Her voice also sounds great and she keeps up with Timbaland really well. The music is also really cool with the different sound effects that enhance a mood of mystery but fun in the song. This is the type of song that you just want to get up and dancen to.

I really enjoy listening to this song when I am bored on the bus for some reason. Its a great song for a down moment because it brings you back to reality with its great rythm. I highly recommend you download this song because I promise you wont regret putting it in your Ipod. Its the type of song you just want to listen to over and over again.

Typing not Singing: Sugar Mouse by Oh Atoms

If you are a teenage girl you have probably seen a movie called Angus, Thong, and Perfect Snogging. If you haven't please click here to go see it free on YouTube! The movie is hilarious but the music in this movie is also amazing. There are artist like The Stiff Dylans, Lily Allen and today's band Oh Atoms.

Sugar Mouse is a song part of the
soundtrack of the movie and is played at the end with the credits. Its a really sweet song and it has a very romantic message. Still I find the lyrics a bit weird mentioning how a cherry menthol is hiding in someones bedside pocket. After I saw the lyrics I sort of got confused by the songs and now I think it actually talks more about the candy that a person. Weird. Well, it kind of makes a bit of sense now that the song has the word sugar in it. Still doesn't really explain mouse...do they mean the animal or the type of cake? I guess they really are taking the word sweet for its true meaning applying it to both candy and emotions. I'm listening to the song right now and when the singer says just a quarter of you kind of makes me feel like she is giving us a recipe for something sweet. Anyway get whatever meaning out of the song either if you relate it to candy or true love its all good.

The music of the song is really slow and calm. It enhances the candy/love theme making it so much nicer. Its basically guitar and electric piano that carry the rhythm and then near the end of the song some trumpets jump in to give it some nice ¨trumpety¨ touch.

Check out the song and explain the songs meaning to you in the comment box. Bye
!

Video Talk

Today is about music videos. To have better advertisement for their singles, artist launch music videos. Music videos help give the fans an image of the song being performed and an insight into the character of the performer. To me music videos don´t influence my music taste but others are influenced more by what they see than what they hear. I logged into my youtube account and decided to choose one of the music videos recommended to me. Heres what came out:

Brick by Boring Brick by Paramore!
First, Hailey looks really good as a blonde! The video really does give a clear picture on the inner meaning of the song. This song is basically about how you leave your childhood and innocense behind and are thrown into this reality you might not be ready to face. In the video the little girl goes into a secret path and is fightened by the reality she hasnt seen. In the video you see the bands lead guitarist, Josh Farro , digging a hole ( as it is also mentioned in the song) and the little girl falls into it metaphorically burrying her innocense and childhood. Still all through the video she carries her little doll with her showing that
she isnt fully ready to grow.
Now for the fun stuff. I already mentioned the lead guitarist but the other band members are hard to recognize because of their costumes. Jeremy Davis the basist is a knight in armor you can see in minute 1:39. Zac Farro (drummer) is a robber and Taylor York (rythm guitarist) is a type of ogre. And well Haylie is Haylie. This is the first time one of their videos is shot in a set and not with equipment like microphones and such.
Personally I really like this video. Its very colorful but beneath you know there is a hidden message of darkness. The
lyrics of the song are also really powerful and the video depicts them really well, giving the viewer a story line to follow for a better understanding of the song.
I hope you enjoy this video and if you want to know more about the shooting of this video

Bye!

The Funny Blink 182 Video I was Talking About!

Heres the video I mentioned in my last post! Enjoy!

Play This List!

Well as you can infer this is a playlist I decided to do on songs that I have become completely obsessed with! Its a mix of Latin, alternative, Pop, Punk Rock, basically a crazy mix of songs. I would describe this list as crazy, fun, moodie and most important varied. Its good to have different likes of music that way you are more open to other things. For example I like almost all music genres (except rancheras) and I find that it really helps to be tolerant of other peoples music tastes. So without further ado here's this Playlist:

  1. Stars and Boulevards by Augustana
  2. Muevelo by Alexis y Fido
  3. First Date by Blink182
  4. In My Head by Jason DeRulo
  5. Cut by Plumb
  6. High and Dry by Radiohead
  7. Breathless( Cover) by Taylor Swift
  8. The (Shipped) Gold Standard by Fall Out Boy
  9. Ayer la Vi by Khriz y Angel
  10. Like a Stone by Audioslave
  11. Amsterdam by Coldplay
  12. Just Like Heaven by The Cure
  13. Tus Ojos No Me Ven by Joey Montana

Funky huh? These songs are really neat and its a good playlist for when your feeling down:)

Here are some fun facts:

  1. If you want to find great songs like Stars and Boulevards create an iTunes account and use genius to recommend you music! This is how I found this song.
  2. Its always funny to me how most reggaeton men are kind ugly and how when they take off their sunglasses its like WOW. They look weird. I am not particularly fond of the lyrics in this song but its just so catchy, even if it talks about butts and their movements.
  3. Now First Date is just funny. The video is also really funny, its the band memebers acting as if they were having their first date wearing these really old outfits and just being crazy.
  4. What I like about this song and the singer is that he does his own music. He is relatively new but has striked out with really good songs. You should really look him up.
  5. The first time I heard Cut, was when I was watching Vampire Diaries. It was a very captivating scene and I think the music choice was excellent. Not to mention that the piano in this song is amazing!
  6. Aah good old Radiohead. I have recently begun listening to their music because my cousin is really into them so she got me hooked. This is a nice soft song that is really calming and cute.
  7. Taylor Swift! This is (for the first time) not one of her own songs. This is the song she did for the Benefit for Haiti. The song is so pretty and she did an amazing job covering it.
  8. The lyrics on this Fall Out Boy song are so good. "I wanna scream I love you from the top of my lungs, but I´m afraid someone else will hear me", is my favorite part. The rhythm of the song also gives a tone to the lyrics that makes them stand out so much.
  9. Only one word: Sweet!
  10. Audioslave is such a good band. What I really like about this song is the rhythm and the fact that the singer has such a cool smooth voice. Its like his vocals are singing strong, powerful, lyrics but in a lullaby tone.
  11. I had a piano concert once and a kid played and sang this song. He was...interesting to watch and painful to hear but Amsterdam definitely has a very sweet piano. Still I don´t recommend singing this song to 8 year olds. You can play, just don't sing.
  12. The lyrics of this song are so pretty. I saw the music video the other day and was freaked out to how much the men from The Cure look just like Edward Scissorhands. Nothing like freaky dark men singing sweet songs.
  13. Joey Montana might share Hannah Montanas last name, but his music is very different. He is a man who actually sings about his feelings. Finally!!

I hope you enjoy this playlist! Please comment!

P.S You can find the playlist on the sidebar. Have fun!

Blah Blah Blah for Kesha

Kesha is new artist who just came into the music scene. Her music is upbeat and fun. Her song "Tik TOK" was number one in itunes for a number of weeks but what is up with this new single?
First of I love the rythm of the song. Its easy to dance to and I imagine is very popular on the dance floor. Still the beat is not the whole song. Lyrics are very important if you are trying to get a message across to your audience. Its pretty obvios this is just a story of a girl going out getting drunk and being willing to do anything. Kesha is not putting enough meaning into her lyrics. She is just showing how her party life goes and how she doesnt want anyone to talk to her (jajaja). If this song were to get points for the lyrics it would be a negative number waaay far from zero. Still the beat defends the song pretty well, and the fact that 30H!3 is in the song helps. I would like to see a more meaningfull song coming out from Kesha. She could try and make a song about love or puppies in exchange on getting wasted. It would show a mature artist who is willing to grow and not stay in her teen years.
Listen to the song and comment!

Original Tuesday

There are alot of upcoming artists out there who really deserve some recognition and that is what original Tuesday is all about!
Today we are going to listen to a song by two girls who are twins and bond over music,
Megan and Liz. They´ve become pretty popular because the song you will hear is now available on itunes. I found this song last night and completly loved the rythm as well as the lyrics. These two girls really show a skill in music as well as a passion that could push anyone to want to sing and play the guitar.
I believe its important to listen to people who write their own music even if they are not big stars (yet). In doing this you are opening yourself to music in a much primal way because you dont see the flashy actions of celebrities but acctually get to listen to people putting their emotions in one song. These girls are great and I hope you like the song. So here is Maybe Possibly by Megan and Liz.

Song of the Week!

OK so the song for this week is my own personal favorite. The name of the song is With me and its by a band called Sum 41. You may have heard the name of this band before because their lead singer was Avril Lavigne´s husband.

The band orginated in Ontario, Canada and chose their name because it was created 41 days after summer. The bands present memebers include: Deryck "Bizzy D" Whimbley, Steve "Stevo" Jocz, Jason " Cone" McCaslin, and Tom "Brown Tom" Thacker. Their music has changed its sound through time. In the albums Half Hour of Power and All Killer No Filler they showed a punk rock sound, while in Does this Look Infected? and Chuck they had a more alternative rock/metal sound.

I personally love this song because it describes a guy who telling the person he loves how much they mean to him. He talks about how he would like to treasure the moment forever because its perfect and its the time when love is in the air. I just feel really connected to this song because everytime I listen to it, I don't get annoyed or bored and it always finds a way to remind me why its my favorite song.

I hope you enjoy my first song of the week and comment on your thoughts.
